signs that your radiator needs a repair

Do you know when your commercial vehicle radiator might need repairing? Applied Radiators Ltd offer radiator repair Stoke-on-Trent-wide, so read on for our expert advice so that you can recognise the signs when your radiator might have a fault. If you need to know more, don’t hesitate to call our team and we’ll be here to help.

Can you see white smoke?

It may seem obvious, but visible white smoke is not a good sign! If you see this coming from your vehicle, either from under the bonnet or from the exhaust pipe, it could be a sign your engine is overheating, and therefore that your radiator has a fault.

Is the temperature gauge high?

If your temperature gauge on the dashboard is showing in the red zone, then this indicates your engine is overheating and you should seek assistance as soon as possible.

Is there rust under the bonnet?

Rust of missing paint under the bonnet can happen when there is a leak that causes coolant to get onto the hot engine parts, leading to signs of corrosion. It’s a good idea to check for such visible signs on your engine if you suspect something may be wrong.

Is your coolant level consistently low?

Checking your coolant level regularly is always sensible, and if you notice it is consistently low, then you may have a leak. It’s important to only check your coolant levels when your engine is cold because high temperatures which cause the coolant to expand will give you inaccurate readings of your coolant levels.

Can you see leaked coolant?

Coolant appears bright green and has a distinctive sweet smell. If you notice this under your car or in your driveway, then you almost certainly have a coolant leak and should take your car to a garage as soon as possible. At Applied Radiators Ltd, we can ensure your radiator is repaired quickly and efficiently to get you back on the road in no time.
